"I'll lend you this tape to listen to." He softly said as he picked up a tape of Shi Hong'e from the coffee table.
"This... let's forget it." I suddenly had a premonition and blurted this out. There had been precedents for such initiatives, and I couldn't help but remind myself to be cautious.
As we were parting, he glanced at me and hesitantly said, "It's late, let me ride you to the station on my bike."
The moonlight was hazy tonight, making the night seem a bit mysterious.
"Oh, no, I'm not afraid of the dark." At this moment, I really started to feel a bit flustered.
"You wait here, I'll go get the bike." He didn't let me say much and walked away.
What to do? It's so dark at night, sitting on a man's bike, what does that look like? At this moment, I really regretted coming here tonight, but he had kindly written two letters asking me to visit in person, and not going would be too inconsiderate. Sometimes I can be overly serious about things.
This road is indeed very dark, the moon is covered by clouds for most of the way. In the dim light, I could see the bus stop for Route 9.
"Stop, the station is almost here." I said anxiously.
"Let's go up this slope first, you're very light." He kept pedaling forward.
I had no choice but to close my eyes, waiting for an unknown verdict.
Back home, I repeatedly reminded myself: in the future, I must be very cautious about such matters to avoid unnecessary troubles.
