May 18, 1978 Sunny

The weather is great today, with a bright blue sky and not a single cloud, the sunshine is very bright.

In the afternoon, we don't have classes and go to complete the task assigned by the school: to catch flies.

After finishing lunch, I picked up the fly swatter and started looking for targets in the alley. For some reason, there are particularly few flies today; after a long time, I only caught a small half box.

Before long, classmate Xiaowen came, holding a swatter, and said to me, "There are especially few flies today. How about you? Is it also this few here? Let's go check the next alley."

So the two of us walked out of the alley and headed to the next one. When we got there, we were even more disappointed; we couldn't even see a shadow of a fly. I started to get a bit anxious: "Oh no! We have to turn it in tomorrow. At this rate, how are we going to complete the task?"

Xiaowen thought for a moment, squinted at the sky, and said, "It's really sunny here. Let's go to the third alley; there are more tree shades there, and maybe there will be more flies without the sun." Do flies really fear the sun? I thought to myself as I followed Xiaowen to the third alley.

Haha, there are indeed quite a few flies resting under the shade of the trees here, looking like they are leisurely enjoying the coolness, but they are harmful to humans and must be eliminated!

We picked up the swatters, "Smack! Smack! Smack!" and before long, we caught a box full, successfully completing the task.

The sunshine is so bright, just like our mood at this moment.
