Method 1 Use Chrome, Firefox or Safari browser

1Open the page of the song you want to download in Chrome, Firefox or Safari. These browsers all open developer tools to you, allowing you to find files in SoundCloud pages. This method will result in a 128-bit rate file with much lower quality than the original file.

• If possible, use the official download method provided by the artist. If the song's author allows you to download the song directly, you'll see a "⇩ Download" button below the song. Using this method to download can increase download volume and get a high-quality version of the song file. If you do not have such a free download opportunity and cannot purchase music, consider using the following method.

2Open the developer tools. Press F12 (Windows system) or Cmd+Opt+I (Mac system). This will open the developer tools window on the side or bottom of the browser.

3Click the “Network” tab. It is located in the upper part of the developer tools framework.

4Reload the page of the song you want to download. You will notice that the "Network" tab will reset immediately and columns of items will begin to appear, or the time of the item will appear in the "Timeline" column after the item.

• Make sure the page is playing a song.

5. Use the "File Size" column to classify and display the items in the "Network" tab. Click the "Size" column so that the largest files appear at the top. Generally speaking, the audio streaming media on SoundCloud is the largest file on the web page, so it will appear at the top.

• The words "audio/mpeg" or "mpeg" format will appear in the "Type" column.

6Right-click the item item and select "Open in new tab". If you select the correct entry, a button to play media files will appear on the new tab page and the song will start playing immediately.

• If the song does not open in a new tab, you may have selected the wrong entry in the Network tab. At this point it's a good idea to reload the page and look for the file again.

7Save the page. Once you've loaded the audio file in a separate tab, you can save it directly to your computer. You need to give it a recognizable file name and choose a path to download it.

• Chrome - Click the Chrome menu button (☰) and select "Save webpage as".

• Firefox - Click the Firefox menu button (☰) and select "Save Page."

• Safari browser - Click the "Safari" menu and select "Save webpage as".

• You can also save a web page by pressing the Ctrl+S (Windows) or Cmd+S (Mac) keys in any browser.

Method 2: Use Firefox’s download assistant

1Click the Firefox menu button and select "Add-ons". You can install a browser extension called Download Assistant to make downloading songs from SoundCloud easier. Like the other methods provided in this article, this method will also result in a 128-bit rate file.

2Click "Get Add-ons" in the left menu and search for "Download Assistant".

3Click the Install button next to "Video Download Assistant". Even if the title says "Video", it can be used to download SoundCloud audio.

4. Open the song you want to download on the SoundCloud website.

5Start playing the song. You'll notice that the Download Assistant button in the Firefox toolbar starts flashing.

6Click the Download Assistant button and then click on the song. You need to choose the path to download the songs.

Method 3: Use download service

1Open the page of the song you want to download. If you are unable to download via the previous method, or do not want to bother using the developer tools, then you can use various online download services on the Internet. Generally speaking, this results in lower quality files because the song files are re-encoded before downloading.

2Copy the URL address of the song page. Copy the entire web address from the browser address bar to the clipboard. Select the entire address and press Ctrl or Cmd+C, or right-click the web address and click "Copy".

3Open the download service website. There are a variety of SoundCloud download services available on the Internet, most of which are similar. The more popular ones are:

• StreamPocket.com

• Anything2MP3.com

• Soundflush.com

4Paste the URL address into the empty column on the download page. There should be a field in the center of the download page where you can enter the URL.

5Click the "Download" or "Convert" button. On StreamPocket, the download button looks like a shirt button. After clicking, the conversion operation will begin, which may take a few minutes.

• Be aware that many websites have lots of ads on their pages trying to trick you into clicking fake download buttons. If you're having trouble finding the right button, use an ad blocker.

6Right-click the link that appears and select "Save Link As". This will open a window allowing you to save the MP3 file to your computer.
