It's been almost two years since I left the Apple ecosystem to pursue a more open ecosystem including devices from different brands.

After the switch, I decided to check out Google's offerings and I liked what I saw. Initially, I bought the Google Pixel 6 Pro, with Pixel Buds A and after about a year with the devices I upgraded them to Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel Buds Pro and finally the Google Pixel watch.

In addition, I have been using an iPad as my main computer and a Windows computer that I built a few years ago for more demanding tasks.

The Google Pixel ecosystem combined with Google's smart products and their apps work well together in what I call the Google ecosystem.

I think Google has done wonders for the ecosystem in recent years, but if I compare it to the Apple ecosystem, I still think they have a long way to go, mainly in perfecting what they already have.

That's why as someone who used to be in the Apple ecosystem and is now in a mixed ecosystem with Google devices, I want to share the good, the bad, and the quirky!

Google Pixel ecosystem

Currently, my main SIM is in the Google Pixel 7 Pro. I think it's a special phone, a big improvement from the Pixel 6 Pro.

The main reason for that is I really think I had a faulty Pixel 6 Pro unit. It was constantly overheating and the camera app kept crashing even though I restored the phone multiple times. There was also something rattling inside it, which is never a good sign.

But I decided to upgrade it to the Pixel 7 Pro, and that was a great decision. I haven't experienced any glitches or any lag, the phone works really well and doesn't get too hot.

Clearly, Google has released the Fold Pixel and the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro models. However, I am very satisfied with the Pixel 7 Pro, that I don't think I will be upgrading anytime soon. However, if it is released, I might get the Pixel Fold 2 because I like the idea of a foldable phone.
