David Sacks recently donated money in San Francisco for Trump 2024.

Because Silicon Valley mainly opposes Trump, he may have seen this as an opportunity to align with his brand of podcasting. Unfortunately, instead of being unique, Sacks' letter clumsily regurgitated pro-Trump Groupthink. He made four main points:

  1. Trump's legal troubles are the result of Joe Biden's disorder (Lawfare);
  2. The US economy is struggling due to Biden's leadership (A/B testing);
  3. Biden should fear Russia and stop supporting Ukraine against Russian invasion;
  4. Trump had a lawful and orderly immigration process, which Biden has broken.

Let's compare these statements with some easily understandable and well-known facts.

1) Joe Biden is not the reason Donald Trump is a convicted criminal.

Which is more likely?

  • Joe Biden controls the actions of state and local judges and prosecutors, as well as the unanimous decisions of diverse grand juries - an accusation without evidence; or -
  • Donald Trump is actually just a criminal - an accusation with abundant evidence?

Trump was first convicted as a criminal in New York City, where he resided for the first 73 years of his life. Jurors selected by Trump's local lawyers and prosecutors in a process overseen by a respected and experienced local judge. His 12 peers unanimously convicted him on each serious charge. As I have explained elsewhere, these serious crimes are not disqualifying for him from leadership in business, let alone the power of the presidency.

In courts, where lying is not allowed, Trump continues to lose. Trump has lost before four unanimous appellate courts; state and local judges across the country; and even federal judges he appointed. He owes $90 million to a woman he assaulted and defamed. He owes hundreds of millions to the people of New York for financial fraud. His state, New York, has restricted his ability to engage in business or run a charity.

Trump's crimes seem particularly shameful when compared to Biden's quiet courage and patriotism. Biden allows himself to be impeached, something Trump would never do. In a federal investigation into his only surviving son, Biden kept a prosecutor Trump appointed in Delaware informed ahead of a federal judge Trump appointed. When a grand jury unanimously convicted Hunter Biden of serious crimes, the president promised no pardon for him. If he loses this election in November, Biden will leave office peacefully and graciously, even as Trump has promised to weaponize the government against Biden and his family. All of this requires ethics and integrity.

David is not only smearing Biden, he is tarnishing all those jurors and judges. So, David copies Trump's foreign supporters by directly attacking the foundation of America's greatness. The courts and juries and elections are not perfect, but America has to trust them. They are the best system we have to uphold the law against powerful criminals like Trump.

2) America has a successful economy and president.

America today has the world's largest economy.

Remember that when Biden & Obama took office in 2009, the economy was in crisis. When they handed it over to Trump in 2017, they gave him an unemployment rate under 5% and a market up over 150% as the country entered its sixth consecutive year of economic expansion.

When Biden returned to the White House just four years later, Congress was deeply divided; Coronavirus had killed more people in peer countries than in the US; Crime was on the rise; And Trump became the first president in a century to witness negative job growth.

Biden promised that if Americans come together, things can get better. He worked with both sides and the US Chamber of Commerce to pass crucial infrastructure and recovery packages. His disciplined team got Americans vaccinated when faced with fanatical opposition. In nearly four years, his steady approach has delivered:

  • Lowest unemployment in nearly 50 years
  • Highest stock market ever
  • Crime near 50-year lows
  • Wages outpacing inflation throughout 2024

According to the IMF, America is not only the world's strongest economy but our growth this year will double that of any other wealthy nation.

Trump loses to Biden even more significantly on debt and inflation. In his first term, Trump added more debt to America than any president in history, and inflation remains a concern. By the end of 2019, before the virus even hit, Trump had increased our national deficit by about 50%, to nearly $1 trillion.

Trump 2024 promises to be even worse, including deficit spending and trade wars that could lead to hyperinflation. As Biden's anti-inflation policies, including energy development, begin to take effect, David wants to return to the bankrupt casino Don.

In tech, we call this an A/B test, David explains when comparing Presidents 45 and 46, but he's reading the results backwards. In Tech, we call this wrong.

3) Another Trump term would be disastrous for world peace.

If you hate war, today is the best time to be alive.

Under the international system, America was built after defeating Nazi Germany, with invading countries paying the price. The result is fewer invasions and fewer wars. Since FDR fought against Nazi Germany, through NATO and Reagan against communists, to George HW Bush's alliance to protect Kuwait in 1990, our leaders have preserved this Pax Americana. By 1994, the peace system led by the US was so reliable that Bill Clinton persuaded Ukraine to voluntarily give up Soviet-era nuclear weapons they possessed in exchange for a simple promise (a treaty) with Russia and the US that Ukraine would not be threatened.

Those promises meant nothing to Vladimir Putin, a former KGB officer who has run Russia for the past century. Putin hates Pax Americana because Russia wants to use its military might to seize property from neighbors. While cleaning up his domestic opposition, Putin began sending armed men abroad - including to Ukraine, Europe's Breadbasket, a constitutional democracy, and our European allies. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people, displaced millions more, and driven up food and energy costs worldwide.

Putin claims this is America's fault, because anything other than a soft America somehow forces Russia to invade neighboring countries. This anti-American and naive policy used to be the province of progressives, but David cheerfully parrots it. David's exploitative policies will make us less safe by dragging us back into endless past wars.

4) Trump 2024 will make border chaos worse.

Both of America's presidential choices are old, but only one of them acts like an adult.

President Biden has asked the Democratic Party to compromise with Arch conservative Jim Lankford (R-OK) for a difficult and fully funded deal. The deal about to be passed, while Trump is actually boasting about ordering House Republicans to block the upcoming deal. Trump 2024 wants the deal to fail, so they can seriously and actually mobilize for a military deployment plan into US cities, along with mass detention camps and deportations of suspected illegal immigrants.

David defends this tantrum-throwing toddler by saying, quite unironically, Trump's border policy is an orderly process that elevates America's leadership principles. That's not what I remember. Trump cut legal immigration, including green cards and visas; called for a total ban on Muslims; Failed to build a wall; and separated children from their parents (many of whom are still not reunited).

If you want order at the border, elected leaders can work together to provide it. America's border works better with capacity and patriotism than crime and chaos.
