Today the highest temperature is 35 degrees, and people feel like steamed buns in a steamer, being roasted by the heat wave, truly unbearable. For food lovers on this hot day, the first choice of food is winter melon, which clears heat, relieves summer heat, and removes dampness. So we decided to drive to this "Winter Melon Soup Shop" in Guicheng, Foshan for lunch.

After a thirty-minute drive, we arrived quickly. A group of five friends walked into this three-story winter melon soup shop.

The environment is not very luxurious, but it is clean and comfortable. There is a large pile of winter melons stacked by the entrance, indicating that business is good. Next to the elevator, there is a large freezer with the words "Free to Eat" written on it, so everyone took a popsicle to cool down, then took the elevator up to the third floor with a "whoosh".

The third floor was almost fully seated. We found a large square table, surrounded by a sofa on three sides, which was very comfortable to sit on. On the table, there was a large stainless steel pot with a winter melon shell cut open and the flesh scooped out, the edges of the winter melon shell were cut into a decorative pattern, and a piece of winter melon about three centimeters thick was placed on top. Later, when we add the ingredients and let it simmer, it will become a delicious winter melon soup.

Ordering is done in sets, with options like sea cucumber, abalone, oyster, freshwater fish, and chicken in one set, and chicken, stone fish, fish maw, and more in another set, along with many other options that I won't list one by one. The prices vary, with the most expensive over four hundred, and the cheapest over one hundred. We ordered a set for over two hundred, and if it's not enough, we can order more.

We put abalone, chicken pieces, clams, sea cucumber, and shrimp into the pot, letting it simmer slowly, and the aroma gradually wafted out. Taking a bite of the farm chicken, which the shop claims to be the "king of chicken," the meat is tender yet firm. I usually don't eat chicken skin because I find it too greasy, but the skin of this farm chicken is refreshing. With some minced ginger juice, it tastes amazing. The sea cucumber is also crunchy. In short, all the ingredients simmering in the winter melon soup bring out their flavors to the fullest. After enjoying the meal, a waiter came over with a small knife and swiftly sliced the white winter melon flesh from the shell, and then the winter melon flesh kept rolling in the pot with the ingredients... In this cool and comfortable environment, sipping this bowl of mixed delicious soup to beat the summer heat, all the summer irritations were forgotten.

We also ordered a special chicken offal clay pot rice, which was only nineteen yuan for a large pot. In the end, the bill was 323 yuan, an incredible value. We'll come again next time.
