Although it is a high-temperature weather with a maximum of 37 degrees, it is not very uncomfortable in this small town surrounded by mountains. Today's activity plan is to stroll around the town and find a place to enjoy the "selenium life" of this town famous for its selenium-rich hot spring water. Selenium can detoxify, beautify, protect cardiovascular health, assist in lowering blood sugar, and prevent cancer...

The hotel we are staying at is located in the middle of the commercial street, and as soon as we step out, we see many shops, restaurants, and hotels with the word "selenium" in their names, such as "Wen Tang Mi Ma Fu Selenium Wine Industry," "Selenium Rice Restaurant," "Selenium Hot Spring Hotel"... There are also many foot massage shops that use selenium water for foot baths, with beautiful girls at the door attracting customers. My cousin is a businesswoman and can bargain; the original price for foot baths, massages, and foot scrubs is 70 yuan per person, but we settled at 65 yuan.

Entering the air-conditioned foot massage shop, everyone sits on sofas lined up in a row. The waiter brings a cup of selenium water, and I comfortably sip it while dipping one foot into a bucket filled with selenium hot spring water, while the other foot is slowly massaged and scrubbed by a pretty girl with fair skin...

Closing my eyes, I enjoy the heavenly feeling of one foot in the selenium hot spring water, while the other foot feels silky smooth under the gentle touch of her delicate hands... The two feet take turns soaking in water and being massaged, followed by scrubbing, a super enjoyable experience.

After leaving the foot massage shop, we bask in the brilliant sunshine and walk to a nearby café with a cozy atmosphere to have coffee.

It turns out that the café also serves chrysanthemum tea brewed with selenium water, and of course, the coffee is also made with selenium water. I ordered a hot cappuccino, while my husband chose chrysanthemum tea. The chrysanthemum here blooms so large, several times bigger than what I usually see.

Then we visited the ancient well in the town. It is said to have been dug during the Southern Song Dynasty and is still in use today. The ancient well is famous for its high selenium and low sulfur water quality, and because its water temperature remains between 68 to 72 degrees Celsius all year round, it is praised as "China's only high-selenium, low-sulfur hot spring."

There is also another selenium water well nearby, which used to allow people to draw water for foot baths for 50 cents a bucket, but now it is enclosed. Outside, there is a coin-operated water dispenser that charges one yuan, and an elderly man carrying a water bucket said it will rise to two yuan tomorrow.

A few uncles and aunts are leisurely soaking their feet on the stone benches in a nearby pavilion, some seem to be locals, while others appear to be visitors seeking wellness. It is said that many people come here for wellness from Guangzhou and Shanghai; I wonder why that is. Do people from Guangzhou and Shanghai pay more attention to health?

After a day of close contact with selenium, we continued in the evening with a beautiful selenium bath. The "selenium" life is comfortable and healthy, worth pursuing.
